Nana and Papa's House

Tuesday after Christmas we drove the long 10 hours to New Mexico where my parents live now. About an hour Northwest of here, almost to Wichita Falls there was evidence of extreme amounts of snow. There were patches that were still icy and there was snow by the side of the road where the plows had gone through. Remember, the last snow fall was on Thursday- and snow doesn't stick around more then 12 hours here in Texas! All over the side of the Highway there were tire marks in the mud and snow from cars sliding off the road, even most of the fields still had snow covering the ground. I can't imagine what that area was like on Christmas Day!!
My parents bought a fixer-up'er, and have been making excellent progress! Two of my brothers, my sister, and their 3 children were also making the trip down from Utah, so my Mom let us stay in the biggest room- the Master :) Since this is there current work in progress, Dad had to finish installing the heat coils, and tile the floor in the bathroom right before we came. It was wonderful to walk on warm tiles in the middle of the night! I told Alex I would like it in my kitchen when we re-tile, he laughed at me!
First thing the next morning, while I was doing my hair and make up, I spot Benjamin in the bathtub playing with new toys. Too cute not to take a picture of :) Better move that soap.....
Mom and Dad are also rebuilding the closet in their bathroom, so my Dad strategically partially finished it, so that he could put in make shift bunk bed that could be easily removed to finish the project after we left. He tied the latter securely, and even fashioned the boys a wooden gun!!
This space they are going to use as luggage storage- also makes for a nice hiding place right now!
