Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell Jog

Saturday was an amazingly busy day for us, and got off on the wrong foot by me staying up till 4am working on Christmas presents! Somehow in the middle of it we managed to swing by Home Depot and buy a Christmas tree. Alex was beyond happy when he found out that this wonderful tree I loved was only $40! It's a 9ft Douglas Fur, and takes up quite a bit of our living room...seriously, this picture doesn't do it justice! You can't even see our TV from here! We put on 4 strings of lights on Sunday- and we need to go buy two more!

Benjamin LOVES football! He and Joshua are the only ones that will watch most of a football game on TV with Alex. His favorite words these days are "HUT, HIKE"

Saturday Night was our downtown Jingle Bell Jog, so no, normally I do not wear makeup before running! This race was, hands-down, my favorite race so far. Despite the fact that it was FREEZING and we were still pinning our numbers on at the registration booth when it started, it was amazing! They had Santa there for pictures with kids, a rock climbing wall, a bounce house, a live band, and oodles of vender's giving away free stuff. I loved the environment most- running with all the Christmas lights of a downtown city, and all the people dressed up in costumes. It was amazing to run for a cause, all my other races have been simply to race. This was so much different for me- knowing I was running side by side with people who suffer from Arthritis, or who had lost someone with Arthritis. Some teams had pictures on their shirts, some simply said "In memory of..". Some people had lights that blinked around their necks, a few of the dogs did too! There were reindeer, Santa's, Christmas jammies and socks - and if you remember the old movie "Rodolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" with the island of misfit toys- there was even a train with square wheels, an airplane, and a present!
