For Christmas this year we asked all the family to contribute money to a play set for the boys rather then buying a bunch of toys or other Christmas presents.
I am really happy with the way it turned out, and the boys love it! There hasn't been as much time to work on it as we were hoping, and it seems to work out that when plans are made to build, the weather turns bitter cold! One day its 75, but everyone is busy- so we make plans for Saturday, and it's 35! haha So the work has been slow, but the boys have really enjoyed every step of the way. Even when it was just the pillars and no decking, the climbed and jumped off. I know Jeremiah loved not having the rails there- but I sure feel safer with them up!
It's still a work in progress...we have to finish the climbing wall, the monkey bars, the swings, the roof (which will be shingled), and put sand in the bottom for a sandbox.

What a great idea you had to ask for that. Your boys will have many years of fun on it for sure.
