Nana and Papa's Chickens

We spent most of the summer at home, working, or out on the lake- but we did manage to find the time for ONE family trip :)
Joshua flew to Colorado to see his dad the very end of June and stayed through to the end of July.  So the other boys and I drove out to my parent's house for a week.

The ten hour trip was pretty uneventful, if you discount almost running out of gas, and a few major rain storms where we had near accidents- and one where the wind had tipped a semi!  The boys are great travelers when you hook them up to video games and movies :D

We got in to town just in time for dinner, and the boys had so much fun chasing Papa around the play set at Burger King- nice to get all their energy out!

The next morning the boys were extremely excited to see Nana and Papa's newest additions to the family...chickens! :)

Matt and Ben loved to chase them and try to catch them...poor chickens!

Food is always the way to get animals to do what you would like them too, and Matt LOVED to feed them.

Papa showed Matt how to pick them up and hold them without hurting them.  He was such a pro, he got to teach Jeremiah and Josh- and tried to teach Ben, who just dropped them as soon as he caught them.

Nana had to hold Ben's hands on the chicken so that I could take a picture.

Haha, he looks like he is guarding them!

This is the strangest sight to see when you look out the back door.  Guess who wants to come in for dinner??
